With people out of their houses on a Saturday, enjoying their weekend, the cowardly acts of terror have focused on crowded areas popular for shopping and leisure activities. A lot more casualties are expected due to this.
Narendra Modi has criticized the center for not heeding to warnings issued as intelligence was obtained during interrogation from the perpetrators of the recent blasts in Ahmedabad.
Despite assurances from the home minister, Shivraj Patil, of catching the perpetrators since blasts in Ahmedabad and Bangalore rocked the country earlier this year, there seems to have been a failure in intelligence and New Delhi has now been hit.
The terrorist outfit, Indian mujahideen, has claimed responsibility for the cowardly attacks. The e-mail sent to the media claiming responsibility for the serial bomb blasts in Delhi was sent from an IP address of a power company in Mumbai, officials from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) said.
